Wishing all Singaporeans a happy and prosperous Tiger year!
SINGAPORE: Indonesian authorities are unable to confirm reports of a Singaporean fatality in Friday’s twin suicide bombings of luxury hotels in Jakarta. Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta has been in contact with the Indonesian Department of Health, Police and hospitals where the victims of the bombings were sent and treated. The Embassy has also been to the hospital where the bodies are kept. None of the Indonesian authorities has been able to confirm that one of the fatalities was a Singaporean.

I pray for the families of the dead and wounded, and hope that no Singaporean has been hurt. From the MFA website, it states that the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta has been in contact with the Indonesian Department of Health, Police and hospitals where the victims of the bombings were sent and treated. The Embassy has also been to the hospital where the bodies are kept. None of them have been able to confirm that a Singaporean was a fatality.
The Civic Advocator strongly condemns this terrorist attack, which is vile and against humanity. No attacks can ever be justified.

We have also added a new section called Forem. This is the place for us to post all the letters sent in by you, and it is for our government, For Them (got it, For Em?) to read.
We are also thinking of adding another section called Politicians Say. In case we get articles/letters from political parties, we would like to list them in that section. We thought this way we can help our readers distinguish what is political (ie representing the views of political parties) and what is non partisan.
We have finished testing the new online form for people to sign our petition.
The new form is now live.
Please let us know if you come across any bugs.
Thank you.
